Over the past few days I have been working on four little murals for my studio.
A couple of mornings ago I woke up and started drawing. Strange images began to spring forth; birds which have left an impression in my memory clothed in hats and masks. They are unusual offerings from my subconscious and I don’t really know how I feel about them yet but they take me back to Calke Abbey which left an indelible mark on my imagination. I am glad that these four curious birds; heron, cockatoo, pheasant and peacock will be watching over me while I work.
